Trey: "Ladies and Gentlemen, sucking on the sac-vac of Boulder..."
Page: "His majesty, Phil Collins!"
Trey: "Ladies and Gentleman, Phil Collins will now perform Su-Su-Sudio!"
Fish: "Bike."
Trey: "He will now perform an ancient, unknown version of Su-Su-Sudio!"
It's a good rendition of Bike, and Fishman admits before the vacuum solo that "this song is just an excuse..."
That being said, if the highlight of the show is Bike, there are probably some issues, and this show has quite a few of 'em. It starts with a decent David Bowie and heads downhill from there, with some pretty bad slop in I Am Hydrogen, Bold As Love, Runaway Jim (with some old lyrics) Foam and YEM. Squirming Coil isn't sloppy, though. It's a total train wreck.
There are a few decently played tunes, (Weekapaug, Tweezer) but it's pretty weak. Some of my opinion may be affected by the recording speed on the first set, which gives it a little of the old chipmunk treatment. But speedy tape or not, it's a pretty messy show, IMO. 2 Stars.
