The recording starts off with the sound check. You get an “R” rated version of Carolina and a humorous Funky Bitch with Mike saying “Excuse me while I sing the blues!” numerous times throughout the jam.
The show kicks off with Whipping Post! I hope the guy yelling for it at The Strand made it up to Keene! lol The second jam has a cool little groove. Afterwards, Trey says “Welcome to the 2nd set…sorry we took such a long break” referencing the show from 2/22 at the Mabel Brown Room, where the band wasn’t allowed to play a 2nd set because of a fire alarm activation due to too many people smoking in the building, apparently the Fire Marshall was not happy. lol TMWSIY has a few rough patches. Alvenu transitions nicely into Bouncin’. It’s refreshing to hear this paired with something other than DaaM! Nice Possum. Trey dedicates Reba to some friends(John Carlin of The Joneses) that opened Keene Bagel Works across the street from The Colonial. Before they launch into Reba they play a silly little impromptu number, Metal Bagel Death! Another solid Reba tonight following the fantastic version played at The Strand. A well played YEM>Lizards rounds out the first half.
Set 2 opens with a rippin’ little version of Runaway Jim. This pairs beautifully with Sloth. Fun Tweezer with great interplay. Oh Kee Pa transitions into Mike’s Groove tonight instead of the standard Suzy/Bag. Enjoyable Mike’s Groove. The ‘paug is shredtastic! Caravan is great. As Caravan ends Trey says “of course you all know that this music could only mean one thing…and that is that Henrietta is about to come to the band stage…Henriettta!” Fish says “Never have I ever seen so many people so excited over a vacuum cleaner!” A hilarious Brain was followed up with a brief Caravan reprise. Highway to Hell wraps up a fire set. A strong Antelope takes the encore #1 slot. This would’ve been a great way to end it, but the band decides to treat the crowd to a double encore. The audience starts up the “Not Fade Away” Clap before the band comes out for the second encore. Fish says “can’t you people clap a straight beat??” lol An appropriate Contact wraps things up. Pristine show to go along with a pristine recording!
